Privacy Notice

Your story belongs to you.

The Hawk Nest collects as little personal information as practical and keeps public help available without requiring an account.

Effective July 28, 2026

Public resources and urgent-help links

You do not need an account to use the resource directory, Help Now page, partner pages, guest Digital Chips, support links, or public contact information. The Hawk Nest does not create an account record of which help or resource links you open.

When you call, text, or visit another service, your phone company, browser, device, internet provider, and that service may keep their own records. Their privacy terms apply.

Location and resource searches

The food finder accepts a ZIP code and opens the selected official directory. The Hawk Nest does not automatically copy these searches to your clipboard or save the entry in browser storage.

When you choose Find meetings, the city, ZIP code, or location you entered is sent through The Hawk Nest meeting services to the BMLT Aggregator and the official Northwest Piedmont Intergroup AA feed so current participating meetings can appear on the site. If you choose Use my location, your browser asks permission first and The Hawk Nest rounds the coordinates before sending the search.

The Hawk Nest does not save meeting searches in browser storage. Cloudflare and the meeting-data sources may process ordinary technical request data under their own operational and security practices. Use a city or ZIP code instead of an exact street address when practical.

Quick Exit clears the visible finder field and results, clears other Hawk Nest help and location search fields, and opens weather.gov. It cannot erase browser history, call or text records, clipboard contents, or records kept by another service.

Digital Chips saved on your device

Guest profiles and chips are stored in your browser on your device. They can include a display name, fellowship, milestone date, biography, personal message, and photo. They remain on that device unless you deliberately download a PNG or backup, or select a privacy-limited chip summary for My Nest cloud sync.

Google Wallet and Apple Wallet passes are not currently offered. If pass export is introduced later, this notice and the on-page disclosure will be updated before pass buttons are enabled.

Optional My Nest accounts

Firebase provides passwordless sign-in and stores the verified email address used for your account. My Nest stores an account identifier, email address, privacy-notice version and acknowledgement time, plus only chip summaries you explicitly choose to sync.

The initial sync excludes photos, biographies, fellowship, exact milestone dates, personal messages, profile links, and wallet IDs. Nothing already stored on your device is uploaded automatically.

When you request a sign-in link, this browser temporarily keeps the email address and privacy acknowledgement needed to finish sign-in. That temporary record expires after 30 minutes and is removed after successful sign-in.

Open My Nest account controls.

Payments

Current support payments are completed on Stripe's hosted checkout. The Hawk Nest does not receive or store full card numbers, security codes, bank credentials, or raw payment tokens. Stripe processes the payment and may provide confirmation or a receipt according to the checkout configuration.

Review the verified recipient, tax, receipt, and refund details on the Support page before paying.

Contact and email

The contact form prepares a message in your own email application; the website does not submit the message to a Hawk Nest database. Your email provider and the receiving mailbox will process and retain what you choose to send. Do not include health records, passwords, financial details, or urgent safety information.

Hosting, request logs, and service providers

Cloudflare delivers the website and may process technical request information such as IP address, browser details, requested URL, security signals, and timestamps for delivery, abuse prevention, and operational logging. Firebase processes optional authentication and private account records. Stripe processes payments. Each provider controls its own operational logs, retention, and legal obligations under its published terms.

External links open services that The Hawk Nest does not control. Those services can receive ordinary web-request details and any information you enter there.

Your choices

  • Use public help, resources, and guest Digital Chips without creating an account.
  • Choose each local chip summary you want to sync.
  • Download or restore a device backup.
  • Export your My Nest cloud records.
  • Delete synced records and request account deletion from My Nest.
  • Clear local Hawk Nest data through the site controls or your browser settings.

Provider backups or security logs may remain for a limited period under provider policies even after the live account record is deleted.
